Flying out of Ghosttown Int'l Airport

I'm off to NYC this weekend for the NYE weekend (NYE--incidentally, my
favorite holiday, because you have no choice but to observe
it...either way, come Jan 1 you'll be writing a new year on all your
paperwork) and my plane out of IND was delayed by an hour and a half
or so because the plane is late getting in. Apparently Indianapolis
isn't used to running late flights, because not only is the airport
completely dead, but I was actually the last person to go through
security on Concourse A tonight--which I know because after I and the
two other people (two!) in the security line went through, they closed
the big door-wall things to block off the whole concourse.

So I guess that's one reason to not wait til the last minute to head
to your gate, huh?

In other news, since this is one of the rare times I have a direct
flight (IND to NYC, in this case EWR to be specific, is the only
direct flight I ever get to take) I actually got to make use of the
mobile boarding pass for the first time ever. IND is apparently one of
the few airports in the country to offer it (yeah, weird...we just
renovated about two years ago). It was very awesome and
environmentally friendly; I just opened up a web link on my iPhone, it
displayed a boarding pass and I pressed it against a special scanner
at security. So if you're ever in a place where the mobile pass is an
option, do it. Cause technology is cool.
